Freedom Debt Relief

PROS / Helpful website, including a dedicated “client dashboard” and a thorough overview of all of its debt resolution options.

CONS / Settlements can rise above 100 percent, hundreds of Better Business Bureau complaints, and the subject of government action, complaints of poor customer support and high pressure sales tactics.

OUR VERDICT / Freedom Debt Relief has one of the most useful websites in the debt relief business, and they claim to have settled more than $6 billion in their 15 years in business. Unfortunately, they also receive poor marks in the customer support department and for being the subject of government action or review in several states. FDR also outsources several of their programs to other vendors instead of offering full-service debt solutions in-house. Their Better Business Bureau rating stays high, but that site reveals hundreds of customer complaints against the company.
